Our Ministries

Brotherhood Ministry:

Meeting time: Monday at 6 p.m.

The Brotherhood has a rich heritage National, State, District and Locally of Christian men young and old uniting together to study the word of GOD. With 2 Tim: 1:15 in mind our Brotherhood Motto: “Teach the word at home with a consecrated heart following the footstep of our savior leading all m en t o GOD”

Boys to Men Ministry:

Each boy in the church has been prayerfully matched with a man in the church, who serves as his mentor. Those men have been instructed by Christian Educators as to how to handle this task. 

Women’s Ministry:

Women Ministry continues the work that Jesus began here on earth. Jesus has commissioned every born again Christian to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holly Ghost: Teaching them to observe all the things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world, Amen.” Women’s Ministry which includes Mission I, Mission II, and Junior Mission are some of arms of the church that reach out to fulfill Jesus’ mandate, the Great Commission.

Deacons and Deacons Wives Ministry

Pulpit Aide:

 The Pulpit Aide was organized by the late sister Christine Moore who saw a need to assist the pastor. The group also helps the pastor in hosting his guest during the church year.

 BTU:

Meeting time: Wednesday’s at 5 p.m.

 The Baptist Training Union is a church ministry in training. The disciple of the BTU is “training church membership in the distinctive beliefs held by Baptist.” This ministry is designed as an essential part of the total educational program of the church. The Baptist Training Union help members to cultivate the Baptist Spirit develop a zeal for truth, a love for God and His Word and abiding missionary spirit. The BTU is a ministry for ALL members of the Church so it can be a family affair. The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church BTU has been a very active ministry every since the church began and has consistently produced winner at the District, State and National levels in the BTU activities which include Bible Story Telling, Jr. Memory Verses, Bible Sword Drill, Young Adult Speaking and Adult Devotional Talk. The Goal of the Baptist Training Union is that EVERY MEMBER will be a trained MEMBER.

Sunday School:

The Sunday School is an instructional arm of the church that teaches the Word of God to the entire family through age appropriate classes. The mission of the Sunday School involves reaching out and sharing with others the Good News of the Gospel and encouraging them to hear and study God’s word. Sunday School meets every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the church.

Children’s Church:

Jesus Said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matt. 19:14 (NIV). The children Church Ministry and its workers are dedicated to teaching children 4-8 years of age about God, Baptist doctrine, and church etiquette. The lessons are formatted to appeal to younger children’s attention spans and abilities. Bible stories, take-home-crafts and songs are utilized. The children and teachers interact in a child-friendly environment that reinforces godly and wholesome family values with examples that can be applied o real life situations.

Evangelism/Witnessing Committee:

Meets once a month on Saturday’s

The church encourages each member to become a soul winner. There is also an organized outreach effort each month led by the Evangelism Committee

Prayer Band:

Meeting: Wednesday’s at 12 p.m.

Nurses Auxiliary:

The Church Nurses consist of volunteers led by Registered nurses within the congregation. A nurse is designated to serve each Sunday. These women also have access to a fully equipped nurses station located in the Fellowship Hall.

Sunday Nursery:

The church provides a fully equipped nursery for small children and babies on Sunday during the worship service.

Orientation:

Each new member is urged to attend the church orientation classes which are conducted on Sunday morning during Sunday School.

All sermons and musicals are recorded in the sanctuary. Tapes are available after service. Videos can be made, upon request. or Denise

Jail and Prison ministries:

The church reaches out to those incarcerated in local jails and prisons and to families of those behind bars. 

Clothing Bank:

If you would like to donate to the clothing bank, contact the church during business hours (940)-766-2865.

The clothing bank is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays and Sat­urdays.
